Safety Coordinator Assistant

Job Description

Safety is, and always will be, a priority for Tractus Projects, which is why we're looking to add a conscientious, detail-oriented individual to our team in the role of Safety Coordinator Assistant.

In this part-time role (12 hours a week maximum), you'll be responsible for helping with the implementation and execution of Tractus Projects' Safety & Health Program. You will be well-versed in all aspects of the program and its applications.

Safety is of paramount importance here at Tractus, and on the forefront of everything we do. We take care of our workers, and everyone else around our job sites, while placing a high priority on a positive and supportive work environment. Our Safety Coordinator Assistant is singularly focused on this vision.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that Tractus Projects' Safety & Health Program is fully realized at all Tractus sites
  • Prep new sites with safety materials and resources
  • File and track safety documents both throughout a project and at its completion
  • Create and populate tracking logs and documentation for yearly COR Audits
  • Maintain Monthly Equipment Maintenance Log and Safety Supplies
  • Make regular visits to all sites and projects to ensure all aspects of Tractus Projects' Safety & Health Program are being met

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in Workplace Health & Safety
  • Proven personnel management experience
  • Ability to accommodate flexible/changing hours, as needed
  • Proficient understanding of basic platforms and software (Windows, MS Office Suite, smartphones)
  • Class 5 driver's license and access to vehicle
  • Valid First Aid Certificate and WHMIS Certificate of Training (Tractus to provide training, if needed)

Responsibilities

  • Delivering on-time, on-budget and on-spec projects
  • Engage, and build positive relationships with, the client and consultants
  • Develop detailed cost estimates
  • Create work schedules
  • Coordinate purchase orders
  • Handle all invoicing
  • Organize site construction activities
  • Administer the firm's safety policies

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years project management / site superintendent experience is a must
  • Some hands-on construction skills
  • A C.E.T., or equivalent construction experience
  • Fluency with the MS Office and Windows 10 environment
  • An understanding of construction accounting and contract administration
  • Strong leadership instincts with a focus on relationship building, communication, and customer service
