Steller’s Sea Eagle Exhibit

Thru competitive competition, Tractus Projects prepared a design and budget proposal that would lead the construction of a +/-6,000 square foot Steller’s Sea Eagle Exhibit at the Assiniboine Park Zoo.  Our proposal won and our Team immediately got to work!  As you can imagine, designing and building for a Steller Sea Eagle did have its’ challenges (i.e. keeping a flying Sea Eagle “in” while keeping potential nest robbers “out”), and our Team of designers, project managers and trades embraced the remarkable task.  The completed exhibit features a gently flowing stream, accessible and topographic views, robust construction, and simulated free range for Steller Sea Eagles Stella and Stanley.

Challenge

Situated on hilly terrain, this one-of-a-kind project was presented as a design competition, and we needed to win.

Solution

Choosing the right team early in the process was key to us winning the competition.  Personalities needed to be collaborative and resourceful minds utilized.
